It's SO TRUE. Observation requires participation, it can't just be handed to you. When information *is* handed to you, you have to be critical and examine it against your own experience or else you'll end up being controlled and missing out on real life.
I agree 100%! I was mistyped for years because I over-relied on tests. They only helped when I did the Progressive Enneagram years ago, a fb group where you'd answer one question from the RHETI each day over 4 months. The idea was to get a more accurate picture over time—and it did help push me in the right direction. But in general, learning and digging is the way to go!
What an interesting process! Using the RHETI as a personal reflection guide over that amount of time sounds SO POWERFUL. At that point, it's not even a test, it's a mirror you get to actually spend time with. That's super cool.
I always tell people, if you can't land on your type, you don't need to know more about the Enneagram, you need to know more about yourself! This approach creates so much space for that!
