Parents and children (and grandchildren) generally have complicated relationships, but I hear that the clarity of the split between who you knew your grandmother to be IN BOTH WAYS is unusually painful. And puts you apart not just from your grandmother but from the rest of your family. Hugs to you and to your daughters, who I'm sure also felt that restraint from your grandmother.
